Chapter 146: FRIDA - 146

Frida’s Pov:

"Drag her out! This dirty insolent, disrespectful maid! The audacity of a maid to crawl into the bed of a noble. Shameless bitch!" She slapped her on her cheek for the third time.

She rolled to the ground and two servants grabbed her, dragging her out.

"Lady Mary, do you know what you have done? It’s an absolute scandal, a noble sharing a bed with a maid? what will your father think!"

Mary’s pleading cries shook the whole house. "Please spare her, I asked her to stay with me."

"Lady Mary, do you hear what you are saying? if you father here’s a word you just uttered you will be severely punished, your suitor is coming for your hand in marriage today and you are busy sleeping with your maid!" the madam gasped in shock.

"It’s not like that! We are friends!" Mary argued.

"A noble, friends with a maid!" The madam was about to pass out.

The noise was so loud everyone stepped out to see what was causing the commotion.

"This insolent maid is sleeping in Lady Mary’s bed! How dare she!" madams voice was hot like iron.

Madam raised the cane and whipped her on the back, she cried out knowing it would leave bruises or worse scars. "Enough!"

A male voice barked "Master." They bowed as her master came out on his wheelchair.

"I have been looking for her to attend to me and you dare to keep her here by punishing her?" His voice was like ice.

"No my Lord, she was still sleeping in your sister’s bed." the madam said cautiously herself.

"She is my servant. I will punish her as I see fit." he replied madam in a tone.

He cast her a hot glare "Come." She stood up following him.

She pushed the wheelchair, she could hear the whispers of the servants "Did he just save her from madam? the ice Lord?"

As soon as they were alone and the doors shut behind them he spoke "Come stand here."

She turned to stand in front of him looking at her feet "Perhaps you really want to die, working for me must be so difficult huh?"

"No my Lord, lady Mary asked me to keep her company and we lost track of time."

"Silence!" he snapped and she froze as the doors opened and lady Mary stepped in.

Mary went on her knees "Brother have mercy, if you will punish her please punish me in her place. I’m the one who asked her to keep me company."

She quickly fell on her knees beside her "Please master lady Mary is innocent, I failed to do my duties as your maid. Punish me please."

"Brother please...you barely talk to me. She is my first friend, someone who genuinely likes to spend time with me and isn’t scheming for benefits."

Her master looked at Mary with contempt. "Mary, it’s better to know your place and stop complicating things."

"You associating with a maid will only make things difficult for her and make her life a living hell. You should know better."

"I know but I can’t help it, this house is suffocating me with loneliness." Mary said with a painful ache in her voice.

"Then perhaps your marriage should be hastened." Lord Warris’s voice was so loud they jumped in fright.

Mary had left the doors open so they didn’t hear him come in. "Mary, your suitor is here to see you."

"Father I refuse to marry, I do not want to be with a man I don’t know, a man I do not love and a man like him. He is cold, selfish and very vain." Mary whined like a helpless child.

"Silence! Stop embarrassing this family you brat!" Lord Warris shouted at her and they flinched.

"Why won’t she act so spoiled, when you’ve spoiled her silly my Lord." Lady Kim’s voice was heard before she appeared by Lord Warris’s side. "You rarely discipline her, that is why she has resulted in having an abominable relationship with a mere maid."

"Hold your tongue!" Lord Warris snapped at lady Kim.

"Do not slander me, I did no such thing. She is my friend." Mary held her hand and she could barely bring herself to breathe air as she saw her master pinch his nose bridge and grit his teeth in annoyance.

"So you are the one causing this havoc in my house so early in the morning and you are barely a day here. Guards!" Lord Warris called and men gathered in her master’s compound. "Lock her up in the cold room, to teach her some manners."

They grabbed her and she panicked "No my lord, please!"

"Father please no!" Mary cried and Lord Warris smacked her on the cheek.

"You shut your mouth." Lord Warris warned the shocked Mary.

She sensed a presence as the guards dragged her out, from the corner of her eye. She saw something fly through the air towards Lord Warris and she quickly freed herself from the guards grip and ran towards Lord Warris "Watch out!" She shouted and jumped pushing Mary and Lord Warris to the side.

She landed gripping the armrest of her master’s seats as something sharp pierced through her shoulder.

Blood dripped from her shoulder, the shocked look on master Eric’s face.

Lord Warris and lady Kim were frozen in shock and Mary’s scream was the only thing she heard "Noooooooo! Help somebody help!"

"I’m glad." was all she managed to say as her body felt weak.

"Guards after the assassin!" Lord Warris ordered.

She fell towards the ground and Eric caught her but she was too heavy, Mary had to rush to support her.

"She saved our lives." Mary said with sincere shock as her vision darkened.

"Get the physician! She’s injured!" she heard their panic voices as she lost consciousness slowly "You’ll be fine Frida stay with me come on."

They lifted her and placed her by her side on a wooden board as they rushed her back into lady Mary’s room.

Mary held her hands "It’s cold."

Mary blew her palm. "Please stay with me, don’t die please, Frida! Frida!"
