Heroine Creation: All My Summons Are Custom Made

Chapter 167: A Little Better Than I Thought

Chapter 167: A Little Better Than I Thought

Lancet was pretty satisfied with what he had come up with. With Espel being his first ever Heroine from the present, he had expected the Lore Attunement to be somewhat difficult.

This was because he would have to connect her seamlessly with present people and present events. But using the familial route made it much more easier because Lancet now only had to connect her with one person.

Oden Fyrebloom, aka Rattlesnake.

Hence, Oden Fyrebloom’s family and past now became her own family and past. This meant Lancet didn’t really have to brainstorm that much.

The whole story about the Fyreblooms dying in that fire caused by the Extinguishers to stop the Demon Break was true. It was the entire reason for Oden joining the Serpent Society. He wanted his revenge on the government.

All Lancet had to do was derive Espel’s own character from there. Rather than Oden staring out into the fire on his own, his memories will now have someone there with him; his sister.

Lancet smiled. In some way, what he’d done was a little... amicable. Oden had been alone all his life after that event. The moment that Lancet’s clicks ⸢ Create Character ⸥, that version of his life would no longer exist.

⸢ Analyzing Narrative Depth... ⸥

⸢ Complexity: S-Tier. ⸥

⸢ Character Backstory: C-Tier. ⸥

⸢ Personality: A-Tier. ⸥

⸢ Motive: A-Tier. ⸥

⸢ Lore Attunement: C-Tier ⸥

⸢ Applying Narrative Coupon ⸥

⸢ Total Cost: 2702 CP ⸥

’Hey,’ Lancet shrugged. ’That’s a little better than I thought. Full price was 3000. Not that I even needed it though.’

Lancet hadn’t gone all out on Espel’s backstory, but her motives were still really impressive. Even though he didn’t have to, he wasn’t going to create a nothing character.

He wasn’t going to go against the very reason he was sent into this world.

⸢ VILLAINESS SHEET FINALIZATION ⸥

⸢ Name: Espel Fyrebloom ⸥

⸢ Rank: Platinum ⸥

⸢ Class: Entropy Mage (Healer Mage) ⸥

⸢ Weapon: Lance of Samsara ⸥

⸢ Motive: To rid the word of the emotional interpretation of life and death, wanting everyone to see things through logic because it’s the only way to ensure peace. ⸥

⸢ Personality: Apathetic, cynical, pragmatic. ⸥

⸢ Event: Orphaned at a young age after her parents died in a fire meant to stop a Demon Break, Espel grew up disgusted by the chaotic emotions that causes slaughter in the world, rejecting her humanity to embrace absolute apathy. ⸥

To finalize it, Lancet gave her a ⸢ Minor Detail ⸥ that added some intrigue to her character — something he could hopefully exploit in the future.

⸢ Minor Details: Despite her terrifying dominion over decay and reconstruction, Espel has a strange, almost childish obsession with preserving mundane fragility. Her dorm room is secretly filled with meticulously kept glass dolls and ordinary flowers that she refuses to let wither. She also has a severe, out-of-character sweet tooth, often casually crunching on raw sugar cubes while watching her Gravewings corrode an enemy’s armor. ⸥

With that, Lancet selected ⸢ Create Character ⸥ and sat back, watching the system form a completely new character into the world’s present timeline.

⸢ Villainess is being created. Please wait. ⸥

Lancet watched with anticipation as the system sang in his head.

⸢ ... ⸥

⸢ Villainess is being woven into world’s lore ⸥

⸢ ... ⸥

⸢ Villainess is being woven into people’s memory ⸥

⸢ ... ⸥

⸢ Villainess is being added into citizen records, books, academy list, etc ⸥

⸢ ... ⸥

Ding!

⸢ Villainess created successfully. Espel Fyrebloom is presently asleep in the Platinum Dorms. ⸥

Lancet let out a deep breath, covering his mouth. Even till now, he was still in disbelief that this was an actual power he possessed.

Even more, to think that the person he just created five seconds ago was now in a bed, sleeping, like she had always existed. It was crazy.

Lancet was still thinking about this when the system interface lit up again with excited ⸢ Ding ⸥ !

⸢ Congratulations! You have created your first Bound Summon!! ⸥

⸢ Bound Summons: These Summons are not resurrected from the past, they are in the present, hence can not be kept in a Summon Space. You require a catalyst to keep them bound to you. ⸥

⸢ Ding! ⸥

⸢ System Modification: You do not require a catalyst. Lord Creator Lancet, you are the catalyst. Congratulations! ⸥

Lancet stared at the screen for a long while. ’Well. That was a surprising 360.’

⸢ Ding! ⸥

⸢ Do you wish to understand Bound Summons further? ⸥

Lancet mostly knew everything about Bound Summons. But with the system modifier, he suspected that things could be slightly different. It was best to know what they were now so he wouldn’t get in trouble later.

He selected ⸢ YES ⸥

The screen flickered away and displayed a new one.

⸢ Bound Summons: Bound Summons cost a lower amount Grace than Invoked Summons. When docile, they cost zero Grace and the cost slowly increases depending on how long they spend in battle for your own sake. ⸥

Lancet thought immediately that that was good news. Other Summoners that used Bound Summons like Demon Binders, Beast Tamers (some kinds) and Spirit Callers, still spent the same maximum amount of Grace when they summoned their creatures.

But in Lancet’s case, since his Bound Summon, Espel, was actively living outside in the real world, it would be impractical to charge Grace to fuel her. So, fairly, he would only spend Grace on her when she was fighting for him.

That was good.

⸢ Regardless of where they are, all kills from Bound Summons count as your kills. Whether killed for you or for personal gain, the EXP is given to you, though varying in amount. ⸥

Lancet raised a brow. He liked that too, but he started to wonder if that meant he was responsible for the kills as well. If Espel murdered someone on a random day, this sort of meant that he murdered them too.

⸢ Bound Summons are compelled to fight for you. They can not refuse. Your mark will appear on their skin, a crest forcing them to fight in your name. You decide whether or not to convince them to fight for you freely, but regardless of their response, the crest can not be removed as long as they’re your Summon. ⸥

Lancet understood that. Summons basically had no choice. Though, he could already see Espel not liking this one bit.

⸢ However, Bound Summons drain Constitution and Intelligence stat massively. Your Will comes from both of these stats and because you require very strong will to keep living humans bound, these stats will be siphoned quickly especially in battle. ⸥

Lancet didn’t worry too much about that. He had enough EXP to increase his Intelligence and Constitution massively. All he needed was to fix his Grace before he could attempt leveling up again.

The system seemed to have nothing else to tell him, so Lancet sent it away. He flung the empty buckets of chicken into his bin with perfect accuracy, then adjusted himself so he could go to sleep.

After a sigh of satisfaction, Lancet closed his eyes. Tomorrow, the world will wake up with a new character that everyone believed always existed.
